Vigil:    Peterborough folk are well used to our fickle, ever changing weather – just as well, because this year we ‘scored’  crystal clear, starry and still skies that indicate frosts are very near! However, those people who had nominated a time to stand vigil at the Cenotaphs rugged up well and took their turn undeterred.  Several even chose to fill the ‘gap’ for yet another hour, two extra hours in one case. THANK YOU:  To Everyone who made 2016 ANZAC Day a successful one : folk who stood at vigil, Red Cross ladies who made the biscuits to accompany the tea/coffee offered afterwards, Chris & Ian Oates – once again on overnight duty in the marquee and managing the dignified changeovers, members of the R.S.L. who assisted in so many ways, wonderful shop windows and a very special Thank You to Jason Schell who kindly loaned his restored WWII Landrover {currently on display in Steamtown} to be on display in the Main Street and outside the R.S.L. clubrooms.. Dawn Service: At 6am – a smaller crowd than last year, but, given it was a long weekend, school holidays and beautiful camping weather, still a credit to the community with approx. 120 attending the service led by Envoy Chambers and President Mike Pickering with Sing Australia in fine voice once again. Breakfast: Our wonderful Town Hall {heated} held almost 150 breakfast go-ers easily and all of them enjoyed the great work of Leo and Schoie who churned out eggs, bacon and toast to set folks up for the day. Thank You One and All LEST WE FORGET. President Mike Pickering.
