2021 Peterborough Art & Cultural Festival

26th March until 5th April

Leave the “Pandemic Blues” behind, and visit the Mid North’s Prime tourism location, Peterborough, and enjoy 10 days of fabulous exhibitions and events, in addition to the town’s many tourist attractions. Be delighted by unique sculptures, created by local artists at the Goods Shed. Take a tour of the working Print Shop, where time has seemingly stood still. Treat yourself at the Street Markets on Saturday March 27th, and April 3rd, from 9am until 3pm. An Official Festival Opening, included a “Smoking Ceremony” by the Region’s Traditional Owners, on the 27th at 10am. Enjoy home-made goodies, handmade items, locally produced Olive Oil, and many other delights, with a BBQ, and drinks also available. Free Entertainment by John Murphy (One Night Country Man) will be provided on both Market Days. Saturday night will see a free concert, hosted in St Peter’s Anglican Church, Kitchener Street, from 7:30 until 9:00. Guests will enjoy a range of fine vocal and instrumental performances, featuring classical songs, musical theatre, light Opera, and Gilbert & Sullivan from Baritone, Peter Hopkins. Lesley Kulow will feature on Clarinet, with accompanist Margie Symonds. Host for the evening will be local artist Heather Parker. Bookings are essential ph 0400 461 100. Enjoy the music at the Free Family Concert on Sunday March 28th, at the Soldier’s Memorial Oval from 2:30pm until 5pm. Please bring own blankets, food, and non-alcoholic drinks. Entertainers will include Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Zac Eden, John Murphy, Chris Malycha and “Jukebox Sid”. Festival organisers take pride that the newly formed “Peterborough Players” will present 2 One-Act Comedy Plays, plus a real Aussie Yarn, at Yongala Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday March 31st, and Thursday April 1st. All tickets will cost $10 and booking essential. Phone 0411 537 884 For a great evening of Aussie entertainment, “Me ‘n Me Mates” will present Australian songs and stories in a not-to-be-missed performance at Peterborough Golf Club on Saturday April 3rd from 7:30pm- 10:00pm, free entry with bar and EFTPOS facilities available. Bookings are essential as numbers are strictly limited. Phone 0431 497 357 to register names and numbers. “Me ‘n Me Mates” will also stage a Children’s Show next day, at beautiful Victoria Park, following an Easter Egg Hunt for children aged eight and under.
